Italian for a nocturne, a piece written for the night. The house is named for the hours after dinner, when a city is easier to know.
The best parts of a trip are the ones a guidebook cannot book: a first fitting with a tailor, say, or a table that takes no bookings from the public. The house puts one of those at the centre of each trip and leaves the rest out.
It is built for the traveller who would rather read a long magazine feature than scroll a results page, and for the hotels, ateliers and tables who would rather host one of those readers than ten of the other kind.
Ocean reads the traveller and plans accordingly: the Louvre’s Egyptian rooms if that is what matters, and the Mona Lisa skipped if it doesn’t.
It starts with a note to the house.
Notturno is by invitation for now. Send the house a short note about the kind of week you have in mind, and a person reads every one within two working days.
Then a conversation with Ocean.
Choose a trip from the edit or a place from the library, and tell Ocean what the week should hold. She draws up the days. If you would rather fill in a form, there is one.
You read the days and confirm.
Change what you like, then confirm. Your card is kept on file, and nothing is charged until you confirm the trip. While the house is by invitation, a code from the house is asked for at this point.
Ocean looks after the trip while you travel.
She keeps watch while you are away and writes first when something changes. When the trip ends it is closed, with one final account.
Every account has a standing. It follows the trips you take with the house, and it decides which trips in the edit are open to you.
How changes during a trip are paid at each standing is set out in the booking conditions.
Your standing is shown on your profile. If you think it should be different, write to the house.
A guest’s calendar is among the most revealing things they own: where they go, with whom, and when. The house treats it that way.
The edit names the hotels, tables, ateliers and maisons it sends you to, because the specifics are the point. Naming them is not a claim on them. Unless we say so, none of them is a partner of Notturno, and none has endorsed it.
