Accessibility
Prepared 22 October 2026.Next review April 2027.
Notturno should work for you however you read it. This statement says what we aim for, where we fall short, and how to reach us when something gets in the way.
What this covers
This statement covers notturno.studio: the public pages, your trips when you are signed in, and the partner portal. The iPhone and Android apps rely on the accessibility features built into iOS and Android, and are not covered here.
The standard we build to
We aim to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at level AA.
In practice, that means:
- every page can be used with a keyboard alone, with a visible focus outline and a link to skip to the main content;
- text meets AA contrast in both light and dark settings, captions included;
- every form field has a written label, and errors are explained in words, not by colour alone;
- dialogs can be closed with Escape, and focus returns to where you were;
- results that arrive later, such as a saved change or Ocean’s replies, are announced to screen readers;
- movement is reduced when your device asks for it;
- buttons and links are large enough to tap on a phone;
- pages reflow to a narrow screen without sideways scrolling.
Where we fall short
We know of these limitations, and we are working on them:
- Photographs. Many images come from a photo library. Their descriptions are short, and some are marked as decorative.
- Ocean’s replies are announced when each reply is complete, which can mean a pause before a screen reader speaks.
- Payment takes place on Stripe’s checkout page, and signing in with Apple or Google opens their windows. We do not control how accessible those pages are.
- PDF documents linked from some pages are not fully accessible. Ask us for the same content in another format.
- Voice conversations with Ocean are available in the apps only.
- Tables in the partner portal scroll sideways on small screens.
How we checked
We checked the site ourselves with automated tests: accessibility rules on every kind of page, moving through each one with a keyboard alone, and reflow to a narrow screen. It has not yet been tested by hand with a screen reader, or independently audited.
