Cookie notice

Last updated 24 October 2026.

Very little. One cookie keeps you signed in, one remembers your choice, Google reCAPTCHA sets one where you sign in, and Stripe sets two on payment pages. Google Analytics runs only if you say yes.

Cookies, and things like them

A cookie is a small file a website keeps in your browser. Browsers also hold other kinds of storage that work the same way. This notice covers all of them.

Strictly necessary

These keep the site working as you asked. They are on for everyone and need no permission.

When you sign in with Apple or Google, or pay on Stripe’s checkout page, those companies set their own cookies on their own sites, under their own notices.

Preferences you set

Your browser also remembers a few choices you make on the site: light or dark, notes you have closed, the tab you were on. They stay in your browser, are never sent to us, and last until you clear your browser’s storage.

Analytics, with your permission

If you accept analytics, Google Analytics counts how the site is used: the pages read, how you arrived, your approximate location (country and city), the type of device and browser, and steps such as opening an offer or asking for an invitation. Google Analytics does not keep your IP address. We have turned off Google’s advertising features and Google signals. We keep this data for 14 months.

Until you accept, the Google Analytics script does not load and nothing is sent to Google.

_gaGoogle AnalyticsTells one visitor’s visits apart from another’s, using a random number.13 months
_ga_<ID>Google AnalyticsKeeps track of the current visit.13 months

Google provides Google Analytics to us as a processor. Some of what it collects may also be used by Google under its own terms.

What we do not use

No advertising cookies. No tracking across other sites. No social media pixels.

Changing your choice

Use “Cookie preferences” at the foot of every page. Turning analytics off removes the Google Analytics cookies from this site at once. You can also clear cookies in your browser’s settings; we will ask again on your next visit.

In the apps

The apps do not use cookies, but they keep similar things on your phone: your sign-in, the token that lets us send you notifications, and the usage events described in the privacy notice.
